Miller Construction Company has launched construction of Gateway Center Doral for developer DBH Properties, Ltd., bringing 84,000 square feet of retail and high-end boutique office space to Doral’s popular NW 87th Avenue retail and restaurant corridor.

The two-building complex fronting on NW 87th Avenue at the intersection of NW 21st Terrace will include approximately 43,000 square feet of office space above ground-floor retail in a two-story structure with a sleek contemporary exterior.  A one-story tilt-wall  building will provide additional high-profile retail space along the avenue that’s often called Doral’s “restaurant row.”

Completion of the $9.5 million construction project is scheduled for spring 2015.  Dynamica Architecture + Interior Design of Miami designed the walkable, mixed-use plan for easy access and a welcoming shopping experience for consumers.

As one of Florida’s fastest growing cities, the Doral area is generating strong commercial and residential construction demand, according to Miller Construction senior vice president Brian Sudduth.

“With two million square feet of new office space approved in the City and more than 1,000 residential units being built close to the site, it’s an ideal time for DBH Properties to bring Gateway Center Doral’s retail and office space to market,” he said.  High Street Retail USA is handling leasing of retail space for the complex and Fairchild Partners will handle the office component.

Active throughout Miami-Dade County, the Fort Lauderdale-based construction services firm recently completed 424,000 square feet of industrial space in two buildings for Flagler Global Logistics at Flagler Station in nearby Medley.
